Bridgend Play Area

Following consultation with local school children and the community council, a design was created and agreed with all the stakeholders concerned. This site was particularly challenging with its sloping topography and our brief was to integrate this play space sympathetically into the existing landscape.

We incorporated robust equipment from our rustic Robinia range within our play design, which sat well amongst the backdrop of the trees.  Raised loosefill pits were used to take up the levels on the site, and the round log edging helped to create organically curving shapes which helped to soften the whole feel of the space.

The eye-catching equipment includes a large 30m long cableway, towering climbing pyramid, a toddler multi-unit offering climbing and sliding along with a seesaw, roundabout and springie.  Accessible tarmacadam footpaths and DDA accessible picnic tables were added to encourage families to return again and again.

This play area was delivered on time and to budget and has proved to be an incredibly popular facility for all of the local community.
