The play area is the result of plans drawn up by town councillors working with the Oswestry Youth Council and local primary schools.

Town Councillor Cynthia Hawksley said: 

"The children absolutely loved it. People seemed to be pleased with what we have come up with after the consultation with the youth and children. When the play area opened, there were queues of people waiting to have a go. It was wonderful that it was ready for the bank holiday. The children were really enjoying it."

Shropshire Councillor Martin Bennett said:

"The playground has already proved very popular with people of all ages. We had been told in the past that the playground did not cater for older children. Now we have equipment not only for older youngsters but also for adults to help them keep healthy in a fun way. We hope people will go along and try out the equipment." 


This large Town centre Play area was refurbished by KOMPAN to breathe new life into a run-down outdated space.

Bloqx was introduced to give teens and older children a challenging place to climb and hang out. This is accompanied by the Supernova, Vega and a Dino cantilever swing. A large Rope Spire net provide a central focus to the site and is suitable to be used by all age groups.

The 2-6 age group has been provided a Large Storymakers Unit, this is Colourful unit which invites children to explore and exploit its many features. Smaller items from the Moments and Elements range provide satellite items that allow children to play together or alone. A train add another strong theme combined with painted floor graphics.
