Village Green Play Area, Hurstpierpoint

Chipstead, Surrey

Hurstpierpoint Parish Council were looking for an artistic ‘wow’ factor in their new playground design.

Project Brief
The Parish Council wanted to achieve a safe, fun and vibrant play area that attracted all age groups throughout the village and become a community hub.

The project required the removal of all existing equipment and the install of a wide range of equipment that would be suitable for two age groups; 1-6 years and 6-12 years.

The Result
The playground has a strong focus on climbing, suitable for the older age group, with the Corocord Octanet, a large rope climbing structure and the Bloqx 3 a unique unit with different climbing angles and panels.

The playground also included a triple tower multi play unit which offers versatile play on an elevated and ground level. This was complemented by swings to suit all ages and abilities, an inground trampoline, a hammock, springer and seesaw.

Testimonial
"The new play area has had a very positive effect on the local community with many endorsements from the community. First comments on entering the new play are "WOW", which was one of the main objectives outlined at the start.

Over the summer holiday period the equipment was heavily used and enjoyed by children and parents alike. The new play area helped to build a great community spirit.

It is great to have a play area that the council are proud of."

Stephen Hand, Chairman Parish Council
